Course Description:
The main objective of this session is to make sure you identify material hazards and take proper precautions to protect your health and safety whenever you work with or around hazardous materials. By the time the session is over, you will be able to understand the purpose and requirements of OSHA's Hazard Communication standard; identify material hazards and safe work practices using labels and safety data sheets, or SDSs; understand the effects and symptoms of exposures and proper first aid; use appropriate personal protective equipment, or PPE, to protect against specific hazards; and respond quickly and effectively to spills.
