Description:

This course explores the foundations of traditional/indigenous healing and approach to practicing within the spirit of this frame.  Indigenous healing methods originate outside of Western frameworks and operate from values such as collectivism, metaphysics, harmony between contrasts, and the essential interconnection of body, heart, mind, spirit, and universe.   We will evaluate the use of ceremony,intuition, energy, and spiritual wisdom in clinical settings; and review transcendental skills that are central to indigenous healing practices.  

Objective:

·  Describe the foundations of indigenous healing

·  Explain the process by which sacred healing spaces are created

·  Appraise their transcendental skills

·  Integrate at least two principles of indigenous healing into their clinical work

Intended Audience:

San Francisco Behavioral Health TAY System of Care (TAY SOC), Master level clinicians who are Licensed, License-eligible, and Waivered who work with the TAY (16-24+) population.

Session Notes:

Course completion certificates including 7 CEU credits will be awarded to participants who attend the full seven hours and completed course evaluation. Certificates will be emailed within 72 hours (3 business days)after the completion of the course evaluation.
