Description:

This course will provide a perspective on youth development from a harm reduction and social justice perspective as well as specific skills& techniques for engagement. The purpose is to improve participants skills in beginning conversations with TAY, working with normal development issues such as rebellion and resistance, and using the stages of change to craft interventions.

Objective:
  1. Participants will be able to name 1developmental task for TAY
  2. Participants will be able to identify 1consequence of childhood trauma
  3. Participants will be able to identify 1 of the stages of change
  4. Participants will express increased confidence in dealing with resistance
  5. Participants will be able to plan for engagement conversations with TAY
Intended Audience:

Open to all Master level clinicians who are Licensed, License-eligible, and waived for those who work with TAY (16-24+) population and are associated with the San Francisco Behavioral Health TAY System of Care(TAY SOC).

Session Notes:

Course completion certificates including 4 CEU credits will be awarded to participants who attend the full seven hours and completed course evaluation. Certificates will be emailed within 72 hours (3 business days)after the completion of the course evaluation.
